“Stress is not what happens to us. It is our response to what happens. And response is something we can choose.” - Maureen Killoran
Are you angry, hypervigilant and emotionally exhausted as a result of the current political climate? Constant threats to civil rights, exposure to divisive rhetoric, and policy shifts, have sparked fear and anxiety for many, especially those whose identities are directly impacted. Times of great political uncertainty can erode one’s sense of safety and belonging, underscoring the need for collective care. Come join our Community Circle support group, a safe and affirming space to talk, listen and be heard. Coping skills will be discussed as well as brainstorming effective forms of political resistance. All identities and experiences are welcome.
Together, we will:
- Commune with one another about our thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
- Explore ways to support our communities with purpose and care.
- Restore a sense of hope, resilience, and collective strength.
- Process overwhelming emotions and share coping strategies.
- Use creative writing to examine anger, injustice, and political events.
